On Tuesday June 24th, 2008 some of the men from the men’s fun group of DiscoverLifeChurch.tv went to see a Brevard Manatee game. It just so happened to be both a double header game verses the Dunedin Blue Jays. the Manatees won the 1st game 2-0 but lost the 2nd game 1-6. It did not matter to us, we had a blast. Not only was this a double header, it was also 2-for-Tuesday at the stadium. So for $3.50 per person, we were able to enjoy an amazing baseball game and fellowship with some of the men in our congregation. If anyone has not been to the stadium, the tickets are also General Admission. Whenever you buy a general admission ticket, you think about how awful are the seats? Well I am including a seating chart of the stadium and we were in section 113, row 2, right behind the Manatee Dugout.
Along with GREAT seats and beautiful mid 80 degree weather with a slight breeze blowing we were able to enjoy each of our knowledge of the game of baseball. It is really amazing that whenever one of the players made an error, we were so quick to point it out to them. I guess that is the competitive spirit within us men.
One of the men, Poppy, had the opportunity to show his vast baseball knowledge when he was selected to answer the trivia question presented at the stadium. To begin with, the hostess’ microphone was malfunctioning, which I feel added to the nervousness of Poppy and the question, which I can not recall at this time, only had 3 choices (A, B or C). When the question was asked of him, he answered with such confidence, we were sure he knew the answer and he would win the prize. Well he answered incorrectly and he got nothing, way to go Poppy… I even think the hostess whispered the answer to him prior to asking the question but I can not confirm that and Poppy said he has no comment. I will just add that he must have been nervous and anyone who knows Poppy, knows he is shy and very reserved, NOT…LOL…
As you can see from these photos, everyone had a great time. I am not in these photos but I was at the game maybe next time I can get in the photos.
If you have not had the opportunity to attend a Manatee Baseball game, it can be a reasonable evening, if you obviously feed the family before getting to the stadium, and I am sure everyone will have a great time.
The men’s fun group from DiscoverLifeChurch.tv meets every other Tuesday night for great fellowship. I think we are planning on an evening of bowling and billiards next but if anyone has any ideas we are open to suggestions. We have already gone fishing and bowling already and we even went out for food and ice cream. Keep on the lookout for more exciting stories regarding our group.

Jeff, I love the commentary and the photos. You guys looked like you had a great time. It is awesome to see men of God gathering together in fellowship outside of Sunday mornings.
Wish I could have been there.
God’s blessings on you my friend.
Grace and Peace
